87th Texas Legislature
On Tuesday, Jan. 12, the Texas State Legislature gaveled in its 87th session. Lawmakers begin their work at a deeply challenging time: as COVID-19 continues to run rampant, exacting a terrible toll on lives, workers, and the economy, and as the nation – and in particular the Republican Party, which holds the House and Senate – steers a new, post-Trump course.
