By Jordan Smith and Wells Dunbar, 12:05AM, Thu. Jan. 7, 2010

The Totescast is back for 2010, with a jam-packed download detailing next week's City Council items and the crush of upcoming primary elections.
Up first, a preview of Jan. 14's council meeting, including the possible creation of a new commander position in the Austin Police Department for lieutenant Wayne Demoss, initially passed over for promotion by chief Art Acevedo once it came out he visited a Panamanian brothel on vacation. Then it's on to the deluge of last-minute filings in this March's primaries, including races in the Texas House, State Board of Education, local courthouses and elsewhere, as detailed by Richard Whittaker. As always, Jordan Smith and Wells Dunbar are your totally awesome hosts.
