Preservation Hall Jazz Band Now & Forever

The mother of all New Orleans’ brass tacks, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, celebrated its half-century anniversary in 2011. My first show ever was within that first decade – when I was about halfway through my own first decade. Forty years on, they’re touring one of their best LPs, 2013’s That’s It!, on display Friday at the Paramount Theatre.

Life After Lubbock

SXSW Music Sponsors Apple’s iTunes Festival

South by Southwest has grown so big it’s now hosting music festivals within its own Music festival. This morning – 7:30am – the conference announced that ACL Live at the Moody Theater will host the five-night iTunes Festival, starring Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Pitbull, Keith Urban, and Zedd.
