Three Chefs Compete in Austin's First Trailer Truck-Off
Over the past few weeks, more than 20 aspiring food truck chefs have submitted proposals for a contract to operate a trailer at the Eastside's historic Scoot Inn. Scoot owner and ATX Brands honcho Doug Guller has chosen three finalists based on their concept, menus, and business plans. They'll cook for the win on Saturday afternoon, May 4th.

More Vignettes from 2013 Austin Food & Wine Fest
The change of venue made a huge difference. Instead of dog park dust in our eyes and our wine glasses, we got the soft green grass of Butler Park. A much better layout made the venue seem more intimate, and participants were able to tent-hop more easily. The satellite wine tents placed throughout the park made sure our glasses were never empty.

2013 Austin Food & Wine Festival
The 2013 Austin Food & Wine Festival has come and gone. Everyone we spoke with agreed things went much better than 2012. Butler Park was certainly a more intimate setting, so getting from one event to another was uncomplicated. Plus, there was enough grass to keep the dust from choking the crowd, or getting in all the wine glasses.

Umlauf Garden Party Turns 15
The fifteenth annual Garden Party had a special purpose – to raise funds to link artist Charles Umlauf's work studio and family home to the rest of the museum and sculpture garden property willed to the city by the artist and his wife. Everyone involved went out of their way to make it a very successful occasion.
