Austin Fashion Week: Go Local for 'Noir & Encore'
Austin Fashion Week gala benefits Arc of the Capital Area

If you wanted a primer on Austin fashion designers, Saturday's Austin Fashion Week soiree, Noir & Encore, would be a good place to start. Enthusiasm for our diversity of design talent as "there must be something in Austin's water", is common. But to see so much work in one room, on one occasion, remains eye-opening.
The evening at Brazos Hall begins with Noir, at which guests are asked to appear in black. A three-course, black and white menu will be served that utilizes items like white gazpacho, white chipotle, black truffle, coconut crema, black chocolate ganache, and milk meringue. Afterwards, groove to an all-white fashion show featuring donated garments to be sold in the Blanc Boutique, with the proceeds benefiting the Arc of the Capital Area. Hair for the show is by Ron King Beauty, and the makeup by Rae Cosmetics.
Some of the locals we love best will represent on the runway tomorrow night. [shameless ed. note: If you haven't seen our own Stephen Moser's smart Made in Heaven designs, you really should.] Other talents include the bridal romance of Sarah Eileen; razor's edge darlings Rare Trends; TV's Fashion Stars, Ross Bennett and Amber Perley of Southern Pearl Couture; Sarah Parrott; naughty and nice lingerie from Megan Summerville and Teddies for Bettys; Lilly Lorraine; super chic occasion wear from Linda Asaf; Priscilla Barroso's Crowned Bird; the queen of all that is noir, Gail Chovan; jewelry designer Kendra Scott; CIARLA bridal; Tess Designs, and Adrienne Yunger of San Antonio.
The party continues at Encore on the rooftop deck, showcasing 18 of Austin's most creative hair and makeup teams. The DJ, open bar and dancing sounds pretty swell to us, and it's all for a good cause!
