Majority Minority
It's official, according to census data

Texas is one of five U.S. states with a majority minority population, according to U.S. Census Bureau data released this week.
Texas, with a non-white population of 55.2%, joins four other states (or state "equivalents," per Census speak) – Hawaii, Washington, D.C., California, and New Mexico – who also have majority minority populations.
Drilling down further, the Census Bureau reports that more than 11% of U.S. counties – 348 of 3,143 – are majority minority; Maverick and Webb Texas have the greatest minority populations in the country, with 96.8% and 96.4% respectively.
