    Deborah Hay: Dear Dancer

    Women & Their Work presents the iconic choreographer Deborah Hay in conversation with archivist and dancer Laurent Pichaud, featuring a preview of Dear Dancer, their film in progress. Pichaud will ask Hay to respond to imagery he has pulled from the archives – which Hay may not have seen for decades – exploring Hay’s perspective as an artist and woman living and working in Austin since 1976.

      Buzzfest

      The Hill Country Galleria's hosting this sensational, second annual (and free) celebration of music, tech, and art – with music from Shigeto, Baths, Suzi Analogue, and Graham Reynolds; DJ sets by Soundfounder and Butcher Bear; and immersive performances by ARCOS Dance, Rosalyn Nasky, and Emily Rushing. Also, eight tech art installations, including Hexamation (a 40-foot diameter hex-grid of 19 light towers that work in unison to visualize seismic data from Texas observation points), Laser Cube (an elevated meditative space with curvilinear light forms and dance floor inside a 12-foot cube that responds to live music), a tech art exhibition juried by dadaGeek, and much more.

      Peckin The Crown

      This is what happens when you combine witchcraft, puppetry, psychedelic drugs, and infuse it with imagery from the dark fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. The narrative, written by Chris Fontanes and performed by Bottle Alley Theatre Company, revolves around one of the last remaining members of a coven of witches and her descent into multiple realities, guided by a manipulative demon.
