    Austin Crawfish Festival

After a two year hiatus, the Austin Crawfish Festival returns to Carson Creek ranch with its family-friendly celebration that features more than 20,000 pounds of crawfish, two stages with live music, beer gardens, carnival games, gator pits and local brands (including the excellent Cajun Skillet) cooking up their popular vittles. Be ready to experience crawfish prepared in every imaginable way – fried, boiled, in an étouffée, pie, or jambalaya – along with other Cajun favorites (shrimp, gumbo, catfish and fries, just to name a few). Bonus: Live music from Wayne Toups, Ruben Moreno, Jesse Lege & Bosco Stomp, Charles Thibodeaux & the Austin Cajun Aces, the Boss Street Brass Band, and more.
    Sat.-Sun., March 5-6, 1-8pm. $6.99 and up.

They had to postpone it due to our inclement weather, but now who's bringing the best gumbo to this weekend party? You can be the judge of that, while nomming your way to gustatory joy via gumbo after gumbo after gumbo at this Cajun-inflected cookoff that also features such adult-beverage delights as hurricanes, hand grenades, and jello shots. Luties x Commodore Perry Estate: Bake Sale

You know the bake sale's gonna be a memorable one when the person hosting it is Lutie's executive pastry chef Susana Querejazu. The woman is, we mean, an extraordinary culinary talent; and this sale is a benefit for the Austin chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier. So, a chance to partake of chef Susana’s delicious works, purchase sweets from pastries to tarts, take a stroll around the garden, and enjoy live music while helping support women in the industry to achieve excellence in leadership and philanthropy? You don't have to say it twice; just save some of those warm, bready wonderments for us, please!
Sat., March 5, 9am until sold out
