Love the Column; Thanks for the Mention | open postmark
Hey Stephen, I was just reading your column [“After a Fashion,” Arts, Dec. 7] and was shocked to see a link to my Always Maxi Pad letter. Also shocked to see that it supposedly won PC Magazine's editors' choice award … I think they forgot to tell me. Anyway, I wrote this last February as a humor piece for McSweeneys.net, and it's taken on a life of its own. The good news is that Proctor & Gamble no longer puts "Have a Happy Period" on their adhesive strips. I'm taking full credit for that one. Love the column and thanks for the mention!

Best, Wendi Aarons

It sure takes the bite out of your funny letter to find out it was written for the always-great but always ironic mcsweeney's. It was so much better when I thought you were actually inspired by truest anger.

Now it feels like sniglets, and I just feel taken in. 12-14-2007

You must be registered to comment. What's the upside?
Here are some ways to look at the bright side of this: 1) you can use a witty screen name that has nothing to do with your real name (as long as no one else has been witty in that exact way before you), 2) you will have to do this only once, and 3) because everyone must register, you'll be able to keep up with your virtual friends and nemeses.  close
