One in a Crowd: Among the Dead

"Hi there, can I interest you in a crowdfunding opportunity for new Austin horror movie Among the Dead? We have all kinds of great incentives, like brains, t-shirts, brains, coffee mugs, and brains."

Zombies: Fast or slow, intelligent or dumb, the one aspect they all share is that they won't stay dead. And some times, a zombie film just won't stay dead either.

Case in point: Austin-lensed undead apocalypse flick Among the Dead. Writer/director William Instone has a stack of horror shorts under his belt, but now he's working on his first feature, a tale of the zombie apocalypse. Earlier this year, he and his crew set a very ambitious crowdfunding target of $50,000, and sadly missed that. This time, they're back with a much more manageable $5,000, and they're almost 50% of the way to those delicious brains, erm, funding target.

Among the Dead is one of a slate of films on Indiegogo promoted with the Austin Film Society (previous projects have included Emily Hagins' My Sucky Teen Romance, animated short "The Oceanmaker", and the New York premiere of SXSW 2014 title Ping Pong Summer).
