When local gelato maker Matt Lee placed in the top three during the North American leg of the Gelato World Tour held in Austin in April, he earned the opportunity to compete in the finals in Rimini, Italy Sep. 5-7. Now, Lee is offering one lucky customer the chance to go along

Customers in Lee's popular gelateria, Tèo Espresso, Gelato, & Bella Vita (1206 W. 38th) in the 26 Doors shopping center can enter the ongoing ticket sweepstakes until Aug. 4, 2014. The winner will be drawn at random after Aug. 5th. For complete contest details, go here.

In order to send Matt Lee off to Italy with plenty of community support, Mayor Lee Leffingwell will proclaim Wednesday, Aug. 13 as Tèo Gelato Day.

Matt Lee will celebrate with friends and customers at a party on the store patio that day from 5-7pm. Complimentary scoops of Lee's winning Nuts flavor, made with a peanut butter base and a chocolate hazelnut swirl, will be served and the sweepstakes winner will be announced. Be sure to drop by to wish Lee bella fortuna on the international stage!
