The Alamo Drafthouse Iron Chef challenge series continues this week with reigning champion, Alamo Village chef Trish Eichelberger, facing off against Robert Rhoades, executive chef from the renowned Hudson's on the Bend. Each of the two chefs and their support teams is challenged to create a five-course tasting menu inspired by the secret ingredient a classic movie. The film for this challenge is Marcel Camus' lush 1959 Brazilian romance, Black Orpheus, the film that sparked the international bossa nova craze. Once the movie is over, it will be up to the audience to evaluate which menu best captures the essence of the film and decide whose cuisine reigns supreme! Proceeds from this series benefit the Capital Area Food Bank, and the screening is at the Alamo South Lamar (1120 S. Lamar). Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased online at www.originalalamo.com; 7pm, Wednesday, Jan. 17.
