B.A.D. Girls go to Austin
San Fran flat trackers take on the Texecutioners Sunday

Interesting test for the Texas Rollergirls tonight: The Bay Area Derby Girls All-Stars, ranked #5 in the West, fly in to face the Texecutioners, currently #1 in the South Central region.
Last time they faced off was in Houston for last year's Battle Royale, when TXRG earned a decisive but hard-fought victory. A win here would keep them on track for a shot at a national title, while the B.A.D. Girls could do with some momentum after a season that hasn't necessarily reflected what a hard-knock team they are.
Bay Area will also be the first touring team the Texecutioners have faced at home since the preseason opener against Atlanta's Dirty South Derby Girls. As coincidence would have it, this is also the last bout before the local travel team heads to Atlanta for the Southern Fried Smackdown, the Women's Flat Track Derby Association's South Central regional finals in Atlanta Sept. 25-27. If all goes well there, the next stop will be nationals in Philadelphia, Nov. 13-15.
The action starts Sunday, August 6 at 7pm (doors 6.30pm) at Playland Skate Center (8822 McCann), tickets $12 advance or $15 on the door.
