Local Game Studio Vigil to Close
The death throes have subsided for gaming developer and publisher THQ which filed for bankruptcy last month. The studios that comprise it have largely been sold off in an auction, but local studio Vigil did not make the sale, leaving it to linger in Chapter 11 limbo.

DVD Watch: 'Fat Kid Rules the World'
I will always like Matthew Lillard. In a fairer world, everyone would forget Wing Commander and Hackers, and just talk about SLC Punk! and how great he was in The Descendants, and his fun, respectful treatment of Scooby Doo. Maybe his transition to director will finally get him the credit he deserves.

‘Downton Abbey’ Watch
I’ve been a little pokey about getting this recap up, but then last night’s episode lacked urgency, too – especially when compared to, say, the third episode of season 1, in which Mr. Pamuk’s heart went kaput in the bed of Lady Mary. Sundance '13: Day Three

Armstrong Comes Clean … Sort Of
If you've been a naughty public figure in America, and all attempts at damage control are failing, you will inevitably be called to the principal's office. You can almost hear it over the nation's P.A. system: "Lance Armstrong, please report to Oprah Winfrey's office immediately."
