Transmission Entertainment is going for broke with the 2010 Fun Fun Fun Fest, with headliners Devo, Bad Religion, MGMT, Slick Rick, and Mastodon. The fifth annual fall frenzy is expanding to include a Friday night kick-off in Waterloo Park, anchored by Weird Al Yankovic. “We think that’s a very un-fest thing for us to do,” surmises Mohawk's James Moody.

Also worth noting: Transmission's essentially transforming the isolated Orange stage with “Circus Austinitus.” The actual stage is being replaced replaced by the ring from Anarchy Championship Wrestling and will host, along with Cold Cave and Monotonix, a grab bag of entertainment options including a veggie hot dog eating contest, Joe Sib's punk rock story time, sketch comedy from New Movement, and an Air Sex contest hosted by the Alamo Drafthouse.

“Obviously Devo's a big get for us,” relays Moody. “For our type of fans, it’s one of the perfect bands. Anyone on the hip-hop/DJ stage, indie stage, hardcore, or comedy stage, they’re all going to love that band and have a history with them.”
