SoCal vibes and ATX tacos

Dear Glutton,
I'm in town for SXSW, and while I am super excited to see Austin I'm also FREAKING OUT because there are so many cool things to see/hear/do/eat. Help me!
– Overwhelmed
Ouch. That’s probably the first thing that went through your head this morning when you woke up, right? That or a series of swear words they won’t let me print here [Editor's note: Try us]. If you did last night right, you drank too many Lone Stars, danced with (and/or kissed) a few strangers, maybe smoked a cigarette or two even though this was supposed to be the year you quit. Never fear, out-of-towner, hangover recovery is an Austin art. Drag yourself out of bed in the afternoon, grab a coconut water, and get over to Tamale House East, a local institution which serves up credible tacos until 3pm, where you can soothe your liver with chorizo grease and your shattered soul by soaking up some vitamin D in the courtyard. Afterward head to Hotel Vegas to catch Thee Oh Sees’ 6pm Friday set, settling into the grimy SoCal garage vibes with another Lone Star or two. It’s gonna be a late night.
