Emmer & Rye Butter up, Lonesome Dove and Searsucker get happy, Juliet flies to the moon, and more afternoon bites.

Emmer & Rye may have just opened, but they are already getting into the collaborative Austin spirit. On Thursday, Dec. 10, Emmer chef/owner Kevin Fink will be hosting chef Ryan Poli of Chicago’s Butter for a $75 seven-course bonanza featuring dishes like wake seaweed pasta with yuzukoshu, and scallop bottarga and egg and spelt porridge with cured roe. Reserve online.

Chef Tim Love’s Lonesome Dove is debuting a new happy hour next week with half off their most popular starters like rabbit and rattlesnake sausage, elk and foie gras sliders, and wild boar ribs. House margaritas and martinis will be $5 and Lone Star tall necks will be $2. Mon.-Fri., 2:30-6:30pm; Sat. 3-6:30pm.

Searsucker (photo by John Anderson)

In more happy happy hours news, Searsucker is moving up their happy hour to 2pm because they apparently have a vendetta against your liver. Now you can enjoy cocktails like the cucumbery (that’s a word right?) snake in the grass or the tropical tiki skirt for $5 and small bites like duck fat fries with parmesan and prosciutto dust for $4, among other deals.

Juliet (photo by John Anderson)

Ring-a-ding-ding. Juliet Ristorante is kicking off Rat Pack Week on Monday with chef Jacob Weaver’s special à la carte menu including Italian classics like veal Milanese and bucatini and clams Posillipo. The cocktail program swings as well with two specialty crafter cocktails. Follow Juliet on Facebook or Instagram for a chance to win a pair of tickets to see Sinatra impersonator Steve Lippia perform at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 12. Special menu runs through Sunday, Dec. 13. And speaking of celebrities from New Jersey, visiting housewives might enjoy throwing wine at Juliet’s newly tweaked happy hour which now offers seven Pinot Noirs at $5-9 per glass, 3-7pm daily.

Stiles Switch (photo by John Anderson)

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to meeeeeeee. A bacon wrapped boudin stuffed pork tenderloin. Ok, so the rhyme and meter doesn’t exactly work, but if your true love really is your true love, they will take you to one of Stiles Switch’s 12 days of smoked meats, starting Tuesday, Dec 8. And if you really, truly love your true love, order them Stiles' brisket tamales. Deets at the link.

Sway is celebrating their third year anniversary with a special menu from executive chef Martin Wilda. Enjoy single battered frog legs, koi pla (a wild striped bass crudo with yuzu, coconut cream, marked lime, and roasted banana pepper), and brioche (we’ll let this one surprise you). Dinner, Sunday, Dec. 6 - Saturday, Dec.12.

Fork & Taco (photo by John Anderson)

Finally, another restaurant enters our end-of-year in memoriam reel. Fork & Taco shuttered after a little more than a year in business on Dec. 1. :(
