A boo! A bounce! And a bomb!

EXPLODING, ELASTIC, INEVITABLE The Anointed One is coming. Yes, sweet pissy apostles, we shall be dropped upon this weekend. Peaches H. Christ shall appear amongst us and then, poof! Disappear! Line up for your cattychism, and get ready to get punched in the face with a big ol' ring. Peaches Christ is Joshua Grannell, or vice versa, as those things go, and this go-round, Josh/Peach is pimping a new genre- and gender-bending movie – one written, directed by, and starring said his/her truly. All About Evil enjoyed a delicious spooktacular premiere in (where else?) San Fransisco two weeks ago and is being launched nationwide, with the first stop right here in Austin at the Alamo Drafthouse. PC will be present for a Q&A, as will co-stars Cassandra Peterson (hello, children of the Eighties, that's Elvira, Mistress of the Dark to you!) and the legendary Mink Stole (see "Mondo Mink," Screens). Look for a guest "slot" for our own Christeene. Filthy and horrifying! (See Saturday.) Also tonight (Thursday) is another sort of resurrection: Big Freedia returns to Austin after a dislocated no-show during South by Southwest. (Hope you are feeling better, girrrrrl!) It's gonna be a big bounce partay with lotsa azz up in the hizzy at Azz Everywhere 2. Pop that. Please, thank you. (See Thursday.) And this past weekend, Cheer Up Charlie's was the spot for the lobbing of a new, proud tradition: Queer Bomb. Miss Rebecca Havemeyer took to the mic with an impassioned plea for self-love in the LGBT, which includes an open-heartedness toward all the letters and adds a few (like QIA). If you haven't heard about it yet, crawl out from under that rock, granny, and check out the mission statement: www.queerbomb.org. (See Upcoming.)
