Redd recuperating

Long Center

Cliff Redd and rest are not things that typically go together; the executive director of the Long Center is well known (and prized) for being relentlessly on the go on behalf of the performing arts facility he runs. But Redd has had to curb his 24/7 schedule following a heart attack at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 8. As part of his recovery, doctors have prescribed several weeks away from the office, and we're told the patient is willing to comply. Since new Managing Director Paul Beutel can't take the full organizational reins just yet (he'll be finishing his duties at Houston's Miller Outdoor Theatre until Nov. 9), Long Center board Chair Carolyn Gallagher will serve as interim executive director. For more information, visit www.thelongcenter.org. And get well soon, Cliff!
