Wittliff Gallery of Southwestern & Mexican Photographers

As if Bill Wittliff hasn't given Central Texas enough with his literate, compelling screenplays (Lonesome Dove, Raggedy Man, Legends of the Fall), he has now bequeathed to us this showplace of photographic treasures, the accumulated collection of 25 years. Part of the Southwest Texas State University collections, the Wittliff Gallery includes amazing images by Geoff Winningham, Alan Pogue, Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Lola Alvarez Bravo, Michael David Kennedy, Ave Bonar, and Wittliff himself, among others, as well as definitive collections of works by Mariana Yampolsky, Graciela Hurbide, Russell Lee, and Keith Carter.
