Dismantling Alamo South Lamar

The iconic sign comes down... for now

Chronicle reader Brad Emmons happened to be driving by the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar yesterday when a crew began taking down the theatre's storefront sign. Click through for his iPhone snaps.

The theatre closed for renovations just after the new year; its projected reopening will take place sometime in the fall, presumably in time for the Alamo's signature event Fantastic Fest.
