Stop Putting Fluoride in Our Water

RECEIVED Wed., Oct. 26, 2011

Dear Editor,
Like others in Austin, I receive daily doses of fluoride because city managers think mandatory fluoride medication is a good idea. Fluoride is a toxic chemical. It lodges permanently in our bodies, undermining our kidneys, bones, and thyroid. Thousands try to protect themselves from this city medication. 600,000 more are unaware they need to protect themselves. Eighteen human studies on fluoride and the brain find elevated levels of fluoride exposure associated with IQ deficits in children. Why is Austin funding a program that lowers the IQ of our children?
Dr. Robert Carton, former president of the Union of Government Scientists at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, said: “Water fluoridation is the greatest case of scientific fraud of this century … if not of all time.”
