Ron Paul Would Be Right at Home in the 1700s

RECEIVED Fri., Nov. 13, 2009

Dear Editor,
Jay Howard suggests that Ron Paul is a “freedom candidate” on par with Thomas Jefferson [Postmarks Online, Nov. 13], because the incorporation doctrine is less than a century old and the 14th Amendment itself only marginally older. I actually agree that Ron Paul is on par with Jefferson. This is because Ron Paul’s politics are also from the 18th century. I’m glad to hear that Paul’s supporters are fully aware of this, although it does make one wonder what year they think this is.
