Fluoride Not Green

RECEIVED Mon., May 4, 2009

Dear Editor,
For many months, a few of us have shared with the mayor and City Council hard evidence gathered by the Fluoride Action Network proving that adding fluoride to our drinking water produces far more harm than good. Our “topic” has been to stop adding fluoride from the scrubbing towers of the phosphate fertilizer industry into our water. In February we gave Mayor Will Wynn a copy of The Fluoride Deception by Christopher Bryson and asked the City Council to examine this book with more than 100 pages of footnotes. All members were given a copy of a 30-minute video titled “Professional Perspectives on Water Fluoridation” with expert testimony from doctors, dentists, and Environmental Protection Agency scientists stating that fluoride should not be added to our water. And yet Lee Leffingwell and Brewster McCracken have stated that they will not take a stand to stop putting this industrial waste into our water! In fact, the mayor and the entire City Council voted in March to continue to poison our water at a cost approaching $1 million a year! No, Austin’s current City Council and mayor are not green by adding industrial waste into our water! For the truth about fluoride please visit www.fluoridealert.org and blog.fluoridefreeaustin.com. We also invite the media, the environmental community, and lawyers for our cause to attend a meeting at Casa de Luz, Monday, May 11, at 7pm to watch a 30-minute video and to discuss what steps to take next!
