Too Much Irish Whiskey

RECEIVED Fri., March 24, 2006

Dear Editor,
I see that one Peter McGarry from White Plains, N.Y., is offended by Kinky Friedman's comment about Irishness and alcohol while he attended a St. Patrick's Day Parade ["Postmarks," March 24]. Well, I am a native Austinite and am offended that we don't have a St. Patrick's Day Parade here where Kinky can spread his Gospel According to Guinness. Mr. McGarry, you may turn your anti-Celtic slur detector off now, it was a false alarm.
p.s. If Mr. McGarry finds this letter offensive, it's because I suffer from false consciousness and too much Irish whiskey.
