Two Texas football players have been suspended on the eve of tomorrow's Alamo Bowl in the aftermath of charges of sexual assault. No players' names were given because charges have not been filed in the investigation, but various reports have named Case McCoy and Jordan Hicks as those sent home.

Neither player was expected to play against the Oregon State Beavers – McCoy is a backup quarterback and linebacker Hicks has been injured almost all year – but the news is stunning if it is true. McCoy often quotes scripture on Twitter and Hicks is also portrayed as a choirboy.

According to the police report, the alleged victim, a 21-year-old Texas Tech student, told San Antonio police that one of the players entered her sexually while the other watched.

The alleged assault happened at about 2:40am today at the Riverwalk Holiday Inn. The alleged victim reportedly told police that she met the two players at a club last night and invited them to her hotel room.

According to the police report, the alleged victim "had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and was crying alongside her friend." The alleged victim told police, "I feel ashamed saying this, but I know [REDACTED] was in me. [REDACTED] just stood there and watched. I don't quite remember." The reporting officer noted that he observed bruising on the victim's right knee and left bicep. The alleged victim and both suspects were taken to a nearby hospital for evaluations.

In a press conference this morning, Coach Mack Brown said both accused unnamed players have been suspended "for breaking team rules."

McCoy's backup at backup is freshman Connor Brewer. The nation's top linebacker out of high school, Ohio native Hicks is expected to apply for a medical redshirt after the season to repeat his junior season.
