Stars Sign New Players, Release Preseason Schedule

Today the Texas Stars announced the signing of two new players and released their finalized preseason schedule. Maybe it's because it's freezing in my office, but I'm ready for the puck to drop on the Stars inaugural season. Right now.

Right wing Matt Beaudoin (pronounced Boh-dwan) and defenseman Matt Stephenson are the Stars' two new recruits. Beaudoin played for the Houston Aeros last year and flourished in the playoffs where Stephenson looks to be a bruising defensman likely to rack up the penalty minutes.

“Matt Beaudoin is a guy who had a tremendous showing in the 2009 Calder Cup Playoffs and really turned some heads with his abilities,” said Texas Stars General Manager Scott White. “Matt Stephenson is a rugged defenseman who played very well in Idaho and Providence. Both players are welcome additions and will play key roles with the Texas Stars.”

Here's the Stars' finalized preseason schedule:

Texas vs. San Antonio at Ice Center at Northwoods, Thursday, Sept. 24, 7:30pm

San Antonio vs. Texas at Cedar Park Center, Sunday, Sept. 27, 3pm

Houston vs. Texas at Cedar Park Center, Monday, Sept. 28, 7pm

Dallas Stars vs. Texas Stars at Cedar Park Center, Wednesday, Sept. 30, 7pm
