FSN Southwest to Air Hooks, Express Games

Ryan Sanders Baseball – who own the Round Rock Express and the Corpus Christi Hooks – and FSN Southwest announced Wednesday that they've come to agreement on the terms to air several 2007 Hooks and Express games. Although the initial announcement only includes the broadcasting of three Express games, three Hooks games, and the 71st Texas League All-Star Game, this is exciting news for the Express/Hooks/Astros fans who've always wondered why these games weren't being aired on TV. Here's what Ryan Sanders Baseball president and CEO Reid Ryan had to say: “Our fans and fans of minor-league baseball have expressed a desire to watch these teams and see the top talent that will be entering the major leagues soon. The Houston Astros are the most popular team across the Southwest, and people care about what’s happening in their system.”

In other good news, legendary former Astros player and manager Larry Dierker will join Round Rock broadcaster Mike Capps and Corpus Christi broadcaster Matt Hicks in the booth to supply commentary for the games. The dates for Round Rock’s live airings are May 28 (vs. Memphis), June 11 (vs. New Orleans), and July 8 (vs. Omaha). The Corpus Christi games will air on June 21, June 24, and July 15, while the 71st Texas League All-Star Game will be taped on June 26 and replayed on June 27.
