Compatible Partners? Thanks, eHarmony.
Recently, eHarmony agreed (after some minor legal rumblings) to add a matching service for homos and lezbos; they're calling the site Compatible Partners. Sounds like Domestic Partners, no? Separate but equal, I see how it is. And no, I am not providing a link to eHarmony's website... Sheesh. Took 'em long enough. It should be noted, however, that non-discrimination policies (at least in California, where the suit was filed against eHarmony) apply to governmental agencies and not to private enterprises. This was a case of a private business bowing to legal pressure before an official court decision had been made. It is unlikely that eHarmony would have been indicted on discrimination charges, but they reached a settlement out of court with the DA and The Man bringing suit against them. Enterprising Chemistry.com took the opportunity to snatch those adorable queer singles. Awwwwwwww.

Clink Clink, Swampy!
So if you missed last week's Hey Homo! presentation of Clue, don't feel bad (even though it was a blast). Your opportunity to party with the Hey Homo! crew (including the always glamorous and inebriated Rebecca Havemeyer) is this upcoming Tuesday, when Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf is screened at the Alamo Drafthouse (8:45). For those of you who haven't seen this gem, it's basically a fictional version of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton's real-life marriage. Hilarious and horrifying, this film will wear your shit out! It's a slogfest. So what's the queer content (as if Elizabeth Taylor wasn't enough!), you ask? The original play was written by our favorite prickly, gay Southern playwright, Edward Albee. And if that wasn't enough, come early for the preshow to see drag star Christeene Lyon's new music video, "Fix My Dick," and a whole load of queer-oriented shorts. This is gonna sell out fast; so buy your tickets now. Bang bang, homos.

Britney Watch '08
Who doesn't want to be famous? I've always wanted to be famous, so I feel very little pity for "oh woe is me" celebrities living the glam, glitzy life that I know I could do a much better job living. Well… I used to feel little pity for them,

If you, like we, are orphaned this fine Thanksgiving, meet us and a couple hundred queer brethren at Charlie's Nightclub & Grill on Lavaca today at 1pm. Every Thanksgiving and every Christmas for the past 22 years the club has offered a sumptuous feast with all the trimmin's. For fans and regulars of the club, this is, of course old news. But if you are not acquainted with the club and its annual tradition – or if you're new blood and want to know where your fambly at: Come on down!

Wish You Were Queer
Happy holidays, friends. We hope you are with your loved ones, however you define that, and that the hearth is brimming and that you have remembered to candy your yams. And your sweetie's. And of course, your ex's and his ex's and that twink who is staying in your garage until he can find a place. The holidays, with their year-end time for reflection and warm/fuzzy family vibe, are as good a time as any to extend some good will to our president-elect and to send him a note of congrats and glad tidings.

You Wanna Get Married? FINE. Stay Married.
Sheesh. I haven't thought this much about marriage since my divorce (which took 7 years). Check out this new online petition to Protect Marriage, Protect Children, Prohibit Divorce, a brilliant tweak of the obnoxious language of California's Proposition 8.

2-4-6-8! Time to Stop the Legihate!
OK, so maybe I wasn't a cheerleader in high school, but about 2,000 of my nearest, dearest, and queerest and I got to practice our best rah-rah-rah at Austin City Hall this past Saturday at 12:30pm to protest the atrocity that is Prop 8 and take our place in a national, simultaneous, multi-city movement.
