Adopt a friend for free this weekend

Looking to do a little Black Friday shopping? Get a few really good deals? Look no further than the Austin Animal Center where hundreds of animals can be adopted free over the holiday weekend.
The AAC will waive adoption fees Friday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 25, 11a to 7p, in an "effort to avert a capacity crisis," according to a city press release. All pets at the AAC are spay/neutered, have up-to-date vaccinations and will be sent home to their new families with a collar, tag, and microchip. "We're certain that no Black Friday sale can top the value of saving an animal's life," said Abigail Smith, the city's chief animal services officer.
The AAC is located at 7201 Levander Loop. Adoption fees will also be waived for animals adopted from the overflow Town Lake Animal Center (1156 W. Cesar Chavez Street), and at the city's off-site adoption centers at Sunset Valley Petsmart (5207 Brodie Lane) and Lakeline Petco (14010 N. Hwy 183).
You can see some of the furry companions ready for adoption here.
