Winning Ugly: A Houston Astros Playlist
World Series victors in 53 songs

For the first time, the Houston Astros have closed down the 2017 Major League Baseball season as world champions. Oh, what a feeling.
Astros team spirit proved infectious beginning with the first ball thrown out back in the spring. In 2014, Sports Illustrated predicted that the H-town big leaguers would win the World Series during game seven in 2017. So it came to pass.
The Astros clinched their first championship Wednesday night after several ride or die, nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat games against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Over the summer, the Lone Stars kept up a strong sweep of wins, keeping a powerful divisional lead throughout the long, hot season. To say this ultimate victory – a first for the team since its 1962 establishment – has been a long time comin’ is a Texas-sized understatement.
As such, we couldn’t resist putting together a musical mix whose theme is simple: winning. Sample our Spotify playlist here.
