Blues on the Green has announced the lineup for this year’s shortened version of the free summer music series, headed to Zilker Park on June 11 and 12.

Gather the picnic blankets and lather on the sunblock: Free summer concerts are back. The Long Center’s free outdoor music series, The Drop-In, returns to the lawn May 23. Every Thursday through Aug. 15 (except July 4), Long Center partners with ACL Radio to host first-come first-serve concerts featuring Austin-based musicians.

South by Southwest, the hybrid music/tech/film/tv/culture festival, will be forever synonymous with Austin. But, having added an Australian spinoff last year, now the fest is headed across the pond to London for a UK-based leg.

The 2024 ACL Fest lineup is here. Dua Lipa, Tyler, the Creator, Chris Stapleton, Blink-182, Sturgill Simpson, Pretty Lights, Khruangbin, and Leon Bridges headline the Zilker Park shindig, October 4-6 and 11-13.

Gary Floyd, the multiformat artist who helped define the Austin punk scene as the outspoken frontman of rowdy punks the Dicks, has died at 71. He was taken off life support after a stay in the hospital with congestive heart failure.
