ACL Fest Cancels Early Acts Due to Rain
First six acts today cut for later gate time

This just in from the ACL Fest press office: “Due to heavy rains overnight and into this morning, we will be delaying the start of ACL Festival today by one hour. Doors will open at 12pm with the first bands beginning at 12:30.”
And it continues:
“In order to maintain our 10pm curfew, we will unfortunately have to cancel the following performances:
Riders Against the Storm Knifight Chain Gang of 1974 Wesley Bray and the Disciples of Joy The Nightowls The Levites”
It thus appears that the first act on will be at the Austin Kiddie Limits stage with the Sugar Free Allstars going on when gates open. Better hurry for that one if it’s on your planner.
Last year, ACL Fest’s second Sunday was cancelled altogether when torrential rains unloaded directly onto Zilker Park. Here in central Austin where the Chronicle offices are located, the rain’s stopped and the sky is brightening. You’ll need your mud boots today nonetheless.
