DADT Gets a WITTness

Margaret Witt's endurance changes the face of DADT.

It was a long time a'comin', but Air Force Maj. Margaret Witt finally had one helluva day in court this past Friday. Appearing before the same federal judge who heard and rejected her case against the Air Force back in 2006, this time proved to be the charm.

The last time we linked to coverage of Major Witt's plight was after 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco ruled that being gay wasn't reason enough to get kicked out of the military. This time around, the judge who originally dismissed her challenge to the Air Force's firing ruled in Witt's favor. Her appearance on the Rachel Maddow Show later that evening sums it all up.
