Austin Beer Guide Steps Right Up
Carnival party taps two debut brews

Ever wonder what Austin’s Pulitzer-caliber journos massively fuss about in between critiquing style guides and inventing niche culinary trends? Well, the Austin Beer Guide release party of course.
Yep, our city’s very own free community beer catalogue is set to subside your boredom in the barroom and bathroom with its 15th iteration of in-depth beer features, industry laments, and scurrilous “brew-mors.” The lads behind ABG promise at least a three day put-down, pick-up-again narrative in the form of Austin’s brewing history in the 1990s, including hazy recollections from these early craft pioneers themselves.
As they are wont to do, the Beer Guide folks have planned their bi-annual parking lot celebration to match the literary carnival that is the Austin Beer Guide … in the style of an actual carnival. In attendance will be a balloon artist and face painter, a high striker that will openly mock your life decision to skip arm day for the past decade, a funnel cake truck, and lo, free popcorn. It just can’t get much better than that, folks. But wait. It. Just. Did.
(Explosions.)
Austin Beer Guide’s special taps will include debuts from Zilker Brewing and Hops & Grain, as well as special releases from some of the city’s most skilled brewers. So, step right up and win yourself a delicious hangover.
