In last week's cover story about the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' new compound in Eldorado, Texas ("Meet the New Neighbors," July 29), the Chronicle incorrectly identified Flora Jessop as the founder of the Utah-based nonprofit group Hope for the Child Brides, a group that aids FLDS refugees. In fact, Jessop founded a nonprofit based in California called the Child Protection Project and an informational Web site, Help the Child Brides (www.helpthechildbrides.com), but not the Utah nonprofit. The Chronicle regrets the error.
Michael King's July 22 "Point Austin" column cited a published statement from Rep. Todd Baxter, R-Austin "What we need to focus on is creating a system that ties reducing recapture to increasing equity" but neglected to give a source. Baxter was quoted July 19 by reporters Mike Ward and Jason Embry in the Austin American-Statesman. We regret the oversight.
