Mamma Dallas Wants You

HBO is looking for the next drag superstar tomorrow in ATX

Holla, queeeeeeeeen. Stop resting on purdy, and get out them chicken cutlets: Tomorrow, right here in the heart of Texas, HBO is hosting an open drag-queen casting call for a new pilot, Mamma Dallas. Created by Mike White – the mastermind behind Enlightened, Chuck & Buck, and School of Rock – the pilot is scheduled to shoot this March.

The catch? They’re only filling one role, but it’s the lead. We’ve posted the casting call below. Think you have what it takes to be Mamma DallasLiberty Bell? Then get your booty to Bout Time II tomorrow afternoon.

Just think, our very own Christeene, Althea Trix, or Simone Riviera might just be the next big thing. Move over Drag Race, Austin’s queens are serving HBO realness.

Casting Call:

Male, 30s, open ethnicity. Liberty appears to be an attractive, sexy woman with a flirty side – but she's not, really. Born Albert De Lorio, Liberty is a drag queen with an ebullient, chatty, upbeat personality, but she leads an unpleasantly seedy life. A life that she plans to turn around with a little re-invention and identity theft.

There will be an open casting call held on Sat., Nov. 15, 2-6pm at: Bout Time II, 6607 I-35, Austin, Tx 78752.

No appointment is necessary for the open casting call, and people will be seen on a first-come, first-seen basis. If cast, compensation will be on the scale of professional actors.

Interested parties may email a picture in advance to [email protected] with the subject title “Mamma Dallas” and include name, resume, best contact info, and city of current residence. Interested parties are also encouraged to create free account on actorsaccess.com.

Our little grrrls are growing up.
