Join The Austin Chronicle in celebrating 30 years of Austin music right here in the Live Music Capital! Votes from this year's Austin Chronicle Music Poll are being tabulated, and the winners will be announced at the 30th Annual Austin Music Awards at 7:09pm SHARP on Wednesday, March 14, at the Austin Music Hall.

Performing at the 30th annual Austin Music Awards are Tex-Mex godfathers Joe King Carrasco & The Crowns with special guests Mariachi Relampago, Jon Dee Graham, and Shawn Sahm. Roots and blues artists Ruthie Foster and Carolyn Wonderland join with Ruthie's Family Band, Rob Hooper, and Cole El Saleh. Nineties neo-psychedelic darlings Sixteen Deluxe play their only show of SXSW 2012, along with the fresh sounds of Quiet Company, highlighting three decades of awards with Alejandro Escovedo, and an exclusive reunion by Christopher Cross.

"The challenge was to pull together all the threads of Austin's musical fabric and weave them into a rich and colorful performance. The Austin Music Awards' 2012 lineup spans generations, genres, cultures, and trends … and still has a few surprises in store,"hints the Chronicle’s Margaret Moser, director of the Austin Music Awards. 

The Austin Music Awards are presented by The Austin Chronicle and SXSW and co-sponsored by KUT, the Art Institute of Austin, Capital Metro, Discount Electronics and is a benefit for the SIMS Foundation. This year, the Music Awards show will air live on America’s longest, continually running community television station, channelAustin (Channel 10).

Tickets go on sale at Waterloo Records on February 24th - $15 in advance, $20 night of show. Your SXSW badges and wristbands include entry to the show at the Austin Music Hall.
