The Austin Chronicle, SXSW, and Stratus Properties are proud to present the 35th annual Austin Music Awards on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, with proceeds benefiting the SIMS Foundation.

For over three decades the Austin Music Awards has been responsible for honoring the local music community and recognizing the best Austin artists, bands, and industry masterminds which have forged Austin's international music reputation.

Join us in celebrating our 35th year with music by:

Texas Songwriters performance by Lyle Lovett, Steve Earle, and Kat Edmonson, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Ben Dickey and more

Femmes for SIMS featuring: The Trishas, Kelly Willis, Erika Wennerstrom, The Bluebonnets, Jackie Venson, Carolyn Wonderland and LouLou (of Thievery Corporation and Night Glitter)

Fab 5 Freddy presenting a one-of-a-kind collaboration with Grammy winners Grupo Fantasma, featuring Jai Malano, Brownout, and Sabrina Ellis (of Sweet Spirit and A Giant Dog)

Performances come backed by Austin Music Awards Musical Director Charlie Sexton and Mayor Adler’s House BandMichael Ramos, Conrad Choucroun, and George Reiff

Also DJ Mahealani, Richard Bowden and special guests Lukas Nelson, Andy Langer, Jody Denberg, Bavu Blakes, and Graham Williams

An opening blessing and performance by The New Generation Children’s Choir

Special Awards:

The first-ever Townes Van Zandt Award will be presented to musician and artist Terry Allen, who will perform with Joe Ely and other special guests

Rose Reyes, honoree of the Margaret Moser Award celebrating a trailblazer in the music industry.

In celebration of 35 years, we’re showcasing some of our most iconic AMA posters at Antone's Nightclub. Join us for the pre-awards celebration on Tuesday, Feb 28th 5PM - 8:30PM where we'll reveal this year's commemorative poster and enjoy live music by Antone's Big Trio.
