'SXSW Presents'

KLRU, Beef & Pie Productions, The Austin Chronicle, and South by Southwest have teamed up for SXSW Presents, an independent film series airing Tuesdays at 9pm on Channel 18 (Time Warner Cable Channel 9). Hosted and co-produced by SXSW Film Producer Matt Dentler, the third season of the series runs through January. This week's installment is Ryan Polomski and Frank Bustoz's State vs. Reed, about which, soon after it screened at a in 2006, Frank Rivera wrote, "Bustoz and ... Polomski are rekindling a dialogue between a torn community and the justice system designed to protect it. State vs. Reed – a documentary examining the questionable events surrounding the conviction and sentencing of death row inmate Rodney Reed – ... draws attention away from moral arguments to issues of evidence and faulty legal representation." For more information, see Film Listings, and www.klru.org or www.sxsw.com.
