Welcome Late Bloomers (Sundae)

Texas Platters

Debut solo record of the Zoltars' Jared Leibowich, Welcome Late Bloomers is a quietly apocalyptic trek filled with a dreamy Sixties sound and pockets of layered, plucky guitar riffs exploring youth. "Early June" watches kids chase their shadows amidst a crumbling world, while "They Say You Can't Go There" cautions a young, dirty hippie against letting the Man ruin his fun. The LP ends with an inexplicable hopefulness on "Another New Day" and "Fantasyland" after Leibowich has delivered the LP like a traveler aboard a boat lost at sea, rocking sleepily back and forth on the waves, a speck of land finally in sight.
