TXRG Wants You

Last weekend to join Texas Rollergirl's 2009 rec league

TXRG Wants You

Another year, another flat-track Roller Derby season. While the Texas Rollergirls don't play in Austin again until the March 1 season opener, first up, there's the sixth annual Whammy Awards (you can vote for your favorite rollergirls here).

But for those of you looking for something a little more full-contact, Sunday Jan. 11 is the last day to sign up for the Rec-n-Rollerderby league's primer session.

The rec league is full-on Roller Derby, run under Women's Flat Track Derby Association rules, but is intended for women that either can't or don't want to make the commitment that membership in the four main TXRG teams requires. It's open to all women 18 and up (if you're aged 8-17, then you might want to think about the Austin Derby Brats).

The primer session runs until Jan 25, with two sessions a week. Registration costs $75. You can register online, or e-mail [email protected] for more details.
