Sneak peek at new gallery Halloween show, opening tonight

Y'know, it's Halloween, and a disappointing number of Austin homes have bothered putting any spooky decorations up. Seems like Guzu Gallery has cornered all the sinister seasonal spirit, with their new terror-themed gallery show Icons of Horror getting its grand(guignol) opening tonight.
The show celebrates the most terrifying and memorable of horror cinema's major players, from Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees to Sam, the malicious munchkin of Trick'r'Treat. For a special Halloween treat, the gallery is holding its own party to raise and scare the spirits, including a fancy dress competition with prizes for best scream queen, best slasher, and best little monster, plus live music, and complimentary beverages from Ballast Point Brewing and Spirits. Heh. Spirits.
But the important part is the prints. Drawing from and by some of Austin's up and coming artists, plus some established names like Cody Schibi, they'll all be on display and for sale at the gallery until Dec. 1. If you can't make it to the Lamar store, then they will all be available via www.guzugallery.storenvy.com from Nov. 3. Here's a few samples, just to get you in the Halloween mood.
