What's your vision?

And now for something completely different: Did you know that the "vision statement" for the Imagine Austin comprehensive plan, encompassing "the council's policies for growth, development and beautification of the land within the corporate limits and the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the city," is online?

You can read the dang thing here, which has separate sections encompassing livability, sustainability, mobility, and lots more. Moreover, the sections are still under construction, and they're looking for citizen input. It's coming up for a public hearing Aug. 10, and then appearing before City Council at the end of the month, so give it a whirl, ya dig?

BTW, you can also view the city's three proposals for a revamped website here.

What the hell else is happening?

On the city calendar: The Commission for Women meets in the Board and Commission room at City Hall, 310 W. Second, 1:30pm.

The African American Resource Advisory Commission meets in the Street-Jones Building, Room 400A, 1000 E. 11th, 5:30pm.

The Environmental Board meets in Council Chambers, 6pm.

The Residential Design and Compatibility Commission moves into the B&C room at City Hall, 6pm.
