Mega Voting Sites Open Until 9pm
Travis County clerk hopes to squeeze in several thousand more voters before Election Day

Unlike most of the other early voting locations, which close at 7pm, Travis County's two "mega voting centers" – large, spacious locations capable of handling huge volumes of voters – are open until 9pm for the remainder of early voting, which ends Oct. 31.
If you haven't voted early, County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir implores you to do so – if too many people wait until Election Day (Nov. 4) to cast ballots, they may be faced with long discouraging lines.

Time Running Out for Early Voting Mega Voting Centers – Open until 9:00 pm
AUSTIN – Time is running out for voters to cast a ballot during Early Voting. Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir is urging voters who to want to vote early to act quickly!
DeBeauvoir said that by the end of the day Wednesday, Travis County will likely surpass the record set in November 2004 for the number of voters who cast a ballot before Election Day.
DeBeauvoir said turnout has begun to rise again this week after a slowdown over the weekend.
“We lost some voters to UT football last weekend, but numbers are climbing again,” DeBeauvoir said.
Traditionally the last day of Early Voting doubles the first-day turnout.
To accommodate anticipated crowds, the two Mega Voting Sites (ONLY) located at 5501 Airport Boulevard and 4534 West Gate Boulevard will be open until 9:00 pm beginning tonight and extending through Friday – the final day of Early Voting.
“Most of our voting locations close at 7:00 pm, but the two Mega Voting Sites will be open until 9:00 pm through Friday,” DeBeauvoir said.
Like the north site, the south mega site has dozens of voting booths and multiple check-in stations available to speed voters through the voting process.
As to the convenience of the Mega Voting Sites?
“Drive a little, and you’ll save a lot of time,” DeBeauvoir said.
The complete list of Early Voting locations is available on the Travis County Clerk's web site: www.traviscountyelections.org.
Voters with questions may contact the Elections Division at 238-VOTE (238-8683).
