Feds Take On Polygamists
Harry Reid is fighting to keep us all safe from the evil polygamists. Phew.

Nevada Democratic Sen. Harry Reid is kicking off the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on polygamist communities this morning, by arguing that the "lawless conduct of polygamist communities [across the country] deserves federal attention."
Indeed, he says, the live-and-let-live attitude of people in the American West has been perverted and manipulated by crazy-ass polygamists that have, he says, developed a "wealthy, vast criminal organization" that has generally gone "unchecked by federal authorities."
Really?
Members of the polygamist Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are pissed about the hearing, which they have decried as undemocratic because no FLDS members were invited to testify. True, as it stands, the only invited testimony will come from state officials and law enforcers, including Texas' own Attorney General Greg Abbott.
