Now that gas stations are requiring you to hand over your first-born child before filling up, mass transit might be looking more attractive. But are you intimidated to learn the ins and outs of Cap Metro? That's reasonable — figuring out mass transit requires a bit of a learning curve.

Cap Metro wants to help you out with that: On Saturday (June 14), noon-4pm, Cap Metro will be at Highland Mall offering "Xtreme Transit Makeovers" to give you tips on how to make it work for you. Participants get a personalized trip plan, and while supplies last, a 7-day bus pass.

The next time you're watching your life savings drain into your tank, consider this:

• One-way trips on regular bus routes cost 50 cents (at least for now).
• For $1, you get a pass worth 24 hours of unlimited rides.
• For $10, you get a pass worth 31 days of unlimited rides.
