ACC Thrown Into Run-Off by Noncandidate
Mahoney falls a fraction short of victory.

Apparently 4,995 voters didn't get the message that Austin Community College student Mike Reid had effectively dropped his candidacy for the school's board of trustees, providing the slim margin necessary to keep Tim Mahoney from claiming victory and forcing him into a runoff against Harrison Keller. Mahoney took 49.1% of the vote (13,625 ballots) versus Keller's 32.91% (9,132). The runoff will be held next month.
