Watson Fumbles the Hardball
Austin state senator clearly wasn't ready for professional jerk Chris Matthews
By Lee Nichols, 10:56AM, Wed. Feb. 20, 2008
Austin state Sen. Kirk Watson went on MSNBC's Hardball last night to speak for his man Barack Obama before tomorrow's big debate at UT, but when pressed to name the Illinois senator's legislative accomplishments, he ended up looking like a deer in the headlights. Ouch. Unfortunately Obama comes out looking bad, but the real fault here is clearly Watson's failure to do his homework before his big moment on national television.
[UPDATE: Watson is red-faced with embarrassment, and says so on his website. And he lists a few of Obama's accomplishments – better late than never?
