Operation Iraqi... What?
According to an anonymous official with Iraq's Interior ministry, "Six gay men were shot dead by members of their tribe in two separate incidents in the past 10 days." In the most recent attack, two men were killed Thursday in Sadr City area of Baghdad after they were disowned by relatives, the official said. The account from Reuters goes a bit deeper:
"Two young men were killed on Thursday. They were sexual deviants. Their tribes killed them to restore their family honor," a Sadr City official who declined to be named said. The police source who declined to be named said the bodies of four gay men were unearthed in Sadr City on March 25, each bearing a sign reading "pervert" in Arabic on their chests.
A Sadr City cafe, known as a popular gathering spot for gays, was also set on fire. Homosexuality was legal in Iraq under Saddam Hussein's regime until 2001.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
Kanye West's fashion inspiration? Homosekshuelles. But don't look too long, Kanye. Doesn't it seem like he's revealing only a tiny part of a much larger secret? Hmmm? Or is it just wish fulfillment?

Duhduh
I know, I know. I should be blogging about the gaywads hot for Richardson's freshly vacated seat at the Obama roundtable, but this is so much more tintinizing: Matthew Parris in today's TimesOnline lays out a great case regarding the sexuality of everyone's favorite errrr, uhh, em, epicene, globetrotting, jaunty-sweater-wearing junior journalist with the Something-About-Mary hairdo: Tintin. And darned if he isn't; a case could certainly be made for his fans.

Can We Throw One Back?
Aubrey O'Day, best known as the skanky former Danity Kane member that got a bit too much personal press for Diddy's taste, just came out. Well, that's what Fox News would have us to believe. Maybe it is a publicity stunt? I wouldn't put it past her. Generally, I am not a hater, but something about this girl just gets up under my skin like a thousand cockroaches in sandpaper jackets. I also find it fishy that Fox News is the only major news outlet who finds this newsworthy. Really, with the Prop 8 travesty and me going home for the holidays soon, this just seems like bad timing. The last thing we (or I for that matter) need is a celebrity spokesperson and holiday conversation-starter, the likes of Aubrey O'Day.

Come Out! Come Out!
It was one big grin that crossed my face when I learned of one of Sarah Palin's defense points regarding the RNC's $150,000 habiliment budget (so far) for the veep wannabe: "My favorite shop is a consignment shop in Anchorage, Alaska, called Out of the Closet." And no, this does not speak to my perverted fantasies of a toe-to-toe Rachel Maddow v. Sarah Palin Greco-Roman… er, interview. Image and video hosting by TinyPic
