VOX Table Opens Today
Lamar Union new foodie destination
By Virginia B. Wood, 3:00PM, Wed. Apr. 29, 2015
Chef Joe Anguiano's eagerly-awaited new VOX Table opens for dinner tonight in the Lamar Union development at 1100 S. Lamar. More restaurant openings are soon to follow.
VOX Table is designed to provide all the new condo and apartment dwellers along South Lamar with a neighborhood restaurant to call their own. The inviting space was designed by Joel Mozersky to establish an approachable setting for chef Anguiano's food where patrons can share distinctive small plates and satisfying beverages in comfort.
According to the press materials, the VOX dinner menu reflects the influences of American, French, and Spanish/Basque cuisines adapted to many seasonal, local ingredients. Menu section descriptions such as “Provisions,” “Leaves + Roots,” Fins + Shells,” and “Feathers + Beaks” have piqued our interest about the dishes behind all that clever word play.
Pastry chef Allison Henschel has created desserts that appear under the “Sugar + Spice” label and her pastries can be paired with choices from the “Everything Nice” section, which offers personal French press coffee and hot tea services in addition to a selection of ports, Madeira, Irish coffee, and Frenet. The bar program, under the direction of accomplished mixologist Travis Tober, will include craft beers in cans, bottles, and on draft, a food-friendly wine list, and an emphasis on custom cocktails. Initially, VOX Table will be open for dinner and bar food service daily. Look for lunch and brunch service to be added in the coming months.
